and offer new cleaning technologies that provide our
customers added benefits in performance, safety and
environmental impact as compared to conventional marine
cleaning products. The following overview provides
a product summary for comparative purposes with recognized
national leaders in the same category
Capt. CHOMP Hull Cleaner
is a unique formulation in that it mirrors conventional
acids in pH and cleaning profiles but contains no free
acids making it inherently safer to use and better for
the environment. Based on organic salt technology and
containing a patented surfactant system, Hull Cleaner
meets or exceed cleaning profiles of hydrochloric and
phosphoric acid yet you can hold it in your hand without
burning your skin. The advantages Capt. CHOMP Hull Cleaner
as compared to conventional products are numerous for
both the boater and the marina/maintenance contractor.
Since it has no free acids it will clean without etching
or damage. When properly applied and rinsed, Hull Cleaner
will not damage anti-foul paints (acid cleaners immediately
discolor the black into a streaked blue-green mess).
Finally, Hull Cleaner is non-hazardous, non-flammable,
non-toxic, non-reactive, bio-degradable, ships DOT Class
55 and does not require special handling or storage
on property. Most products that carry all of the safety
and environmental bonuses associated with Capt. CHOMP
Hull Cleaner do not deliver comparable cleaning performance.
In side by side comparisons Capt. CHOMP Hull Cleaner
consistently performs as well or better than acid cleaners
without any of the associated skin irritation or damage
to the boat.
Other popular brands
are either hydrochloric acid or phosphoric acid based
products. These products carry all of the negatives
associated with acids---hazardous, special care and
clothing required for safe handling, reactive, special
storage and disposal required, ship as a hazardous
material, environmentally undesirable and will damage
substrates by etching and cording. Acid hull cleaners
also immediately attack the copper acetate in anti-fouling
paints discoloring them to a blue green thus ruining
the clean appearance of the boat.

Capt.
CHOMP Black Streak Remover
contains a proprietary surfactant system – DST Technology
- in an alkaline formulation. While it has a similar
pH to other cleaners in this category it is unique
since it contains almost no free alkalines making
it less caustic to use and employ. The most common
request from every marine audience is to provide them
with a black streak remover that really works. In
every demonstration to date Capt. CHOMP Black Streak
has surpassed expectations. Literally a ‘spray and
wipe’ product Black Streak Remover makes the toughest
cleaning task effortless.
Another popular brand, which does not work as fast
or thoroughly and requires repeat applications and
a lot of ‘elbow grease’, has a high percentage of
free alkalines making it more aggressive and likely
to fade colors and damage substrates – fiberglass
gel coats look less glossy with repeat use. The
brand is similar in pH but it does not contain the
patented surfactant found in the Capt. CHOMP products.

Summary – due to
the patented DST Technology Capt. CHOMP is different

we have been approached and asked to clean areas where
everything ever tried had failed – including a brand
new super yacht at the Miami Boat Show. One spray
and wipe later-----the black streak is gone, replaced
by a sparkling, glossy, clean boat. Capt. CHOMP Black
Streak Remover is a bio-degradable, DOT Class 55,
non-hazardous cleaning product. Black Streak remover
is also less reactive to surroundings as the percentage
of free alkalines is drastically lower as compared
to conventional, non-DST Technology black streak cleaners.
The primary surfactant in DST is an organic food group
product and promotes superior cleaning effect with
less reliance on chemical builders decreasing environmental
impact.
Capt. CHOMP
Holding Tank Treatment
combines two natural technologies into one unique
industrial strength environmental friendly product.
Unlike other products on the market, Capt. CHOMP not
only provides a fresh clean scent, but also works
to prevent odor emissions. Concentrated, supersaturated,
highly soluble, high reactivity, proprietary organic
compounds provide an ideal natural environment for
accelerated decomposition of complex organic matter,
while adsorbing odor causing contaminants in wastewater.
By reducing gas emissions, Capt. CHOMP protects systems
from damaging corrosion.
Capt. CHOMP’S concentrated organic
compounds also function as an excellent catalyst for
billions of specially selected waste specific microbes
to rapidly metabolize solids and through competitive
inhibition, overpower existing – odor causing - harmful
bacteria. The added microbes have been naturally preserved
for a minimum shelf life of 2 years and formulated
to become active very quickly in the holding tank
upon application.
Many holding tank treatment brands
use toxic additives such as formaldehyde or arsenic.
These old-fashioned products do not address the source
of holding tank odors. Capt. CHOMP’S organic product
is non-toxic, bio-degradable, non-hazardous and non-abrasive.
It is safer for waterways and marine life.

While the natural and non-toxic ingredients effectively
accelerate decomposition of organic waste and reduce
odor, they also pose no negative impact to the environment.
Capt. CHOMP
Mildew Cleaner is another
unique offering in that it has no direct comparison
in the market. It is the only non-bleach
mildew cleaner available to the boater. Mildew Cleaner
employs the same technology used at major food manufacturing
and processing plants to sanitize and disinfect –
sani-quats. Capt. CHOMP Mildew Cleaner kills mildew
and mold on contact and, when used on a regular basis,
prevents new mildew growth. Not only is Mildew Cleaner
an extremely effective cleaner it is also bleach free
making it safe for surrounding fabrics and carpets.
Finally, as an added bonus, Mildew Cleaner contains
a UV protectant giving incremental protection to sails,
canvas bags, etc.
Other leading brands are bleach based
products. Highly caustic with dangerous fumes, they
are unpleasant to use and will damage surrounding fabrics
and carpet on contact. Bleach based products are also
highly reactive and must not be allowed to come in contact
with certain chemicals (ammonia for example) without
dangerous reactions. While these products kill mildew
and mold on contact, they do not prevent future growth
as part of a regular maintenance program----the effect
is gone after it dries. Finally, other products in this
category do not offer incremental UV protection for
canvas sails, storage bags, etc.

CHOMP Mildew Cleaner is another product in the family
with no direct competition as it is the only non-bleach
formula in the category. Food safe technology that

based on CHOMP’s industrial product TurboClean Plus.
Bilge Cleaner is a mild alkaline (pH 9.5). A truly
unique product in that it is the only cleaner of its
type in the world that offers the additional cleaning
benefits associated with elevated pH products combined
with oil-eating bacteria that actively consume fuels
and oils present in bilge waste – all in a ready to
use solution with a minimum 2 year shelf life. The
by-products of this action, over time, are water and
carbon dioxide which means Capt. CHOMP is a truly
bio-enhancing bilge cleaner – it minimizes pollutants
that would otherwise be transferred to the environment
through ‘accidental’ pump-outs. Capt. CHOMP
is a ‘pour ‘n go’ product – simply add it to the bilge
water and let the boats rocking motion slosh it around
to provide a gentle cleaning action. This makes it
a work free option for the boater. Proven industrial
strength cleaning with hydrocarbon eliminating bacteria,
Capt. CHOMP Bilge Cleaner is the only product of its
kind available and has no direct competition. All
competitive bilge-cleaning products that claim to
offer biological reduction of hydrocarbon contaminants
are either in a powder or concentrate liquid form
which require measuring and blending and must be used
within a short time frame to remain viable. Capt.
Chomp’s proprietary preservative package gives the
boater a ready to use product with a two-year shelf
life.
Other
brands in the bilge product category are a higher
pH (12+), alkaline cleaners that use reactive sodium
products to clean that are extreme eye irritants.
Often, other products require, and recommend, the
use of pads to absorb fuel or oil in the bilge water,
then adding bilge cleaner to clean the bilge. This
type of product contains absolutely no biological
component so it cannot positively reduce the waste
stream and minimize impact on the marine environment
– it simply transfers the problem downstream.

Capt.
CHOMP All Purpose Cleaner----an
alkaline cleaner (pH 11.5), All Purpose differs from
conventional alkaline cleaners in several important
areas. Similar to CHOMP’s core industrial cleaner,
All Purpose contains billions of synergistic bacteria
that are hydrocarbon specific in a combination of
bio-degradable surfactants and approximately 1% d-limonene
(bio-solvent processed from orange peels). All Purpose
is non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, DOT Class
55 product that meets ISO 14001 (environmental standards)
and SCAQMD requirements (South Coast Air Quality Management
District – measures and controls VOC levels). Capt.
CHOMP All Purpose Cleaner contains no artificial scents,
dyes or abrasives so it is safe for all surfaces.
Although water based it is designed to be a very
effective cleaner of oils and grease.
Leading Brand All Purpose Cleaners-----the majority
of marine all purpose cleaners are identical to household
cleaning products – high alkaline (pH 11+) with either
reactive sodium components or glycol ethers making
them less environmentally friendly as compared to
Capt. CHOMP. Many of the cleaners also contain artificial
dyes that will stain carpet and fabrics. Any cleaners
with additional abrasives will damage fiberglass and
may harm metal finishes including brass and stainless
steel. Competitive products simply do not offer the
performance or flexibility of use as compared to Capt.

Spot CHOMP™
Carpet Stain Remover-----a
new carpet cleaning product designed to give
the consumer professional cleaning power combined
with Tetraflex™ – patented polymers that protect the
carpet by adding stain resistance and soil re-deposition
protection to ensure stains don’t come back. Spot
CHOMP™
with Tetraflex™ is designed to clean and protect carpet
in several ways:

– a proprietary polymer system allows Spot CHOMP™
to encapsulate soils and dry completely. No tacky
residue is left behind to attract soils to the area
after it has been cleaned. Spot CHOMP™
dries completely and allows soils to be easily vacuumed
away leaving your carpet clean. Stains don’t some
back and vacuuming is easier after using Spot CHOMP™.

Tetraflex™
adds stain resistance to your carpet with every use
increasing its ability to repel future spills and
stains.

pH neutral
– Spot CHOMP™
has a pH of 7.6-7.8 so it will not strip away
factory installed protection. Water based, Spot CHOMP™
does not rely on harmful solvents to clean and is
a low VOC product so it does not impact indoor air
quality.

Spot CHOMP™
is a low-moisture, foaming cleaner that lifts soils
away from your carpet. Other products use high moisture,
high pressure formulas that drive the soils into your
carpet backing and can actually cause delamination
– the carpet pile separates from the backing giving
the customer a wavy carpet.
The
majority of carpet spot cleaners leave behind a tacky
residue which attracts soils to the cleaned area or
incrementally strip away the factory installed stain
resistance – or both. While these cleaners may do
a good job of cleaning the initial stain, the residue
left behind acts as a dirt magnet grabbing dirt off
of shoes, out of the air – anything it comes into
contact with. The soil is then stuck and resists vacuuming.
The end result is that the stain appears to come back.
Also, their chemical formulation strips away any factory
installed stain resistance exposing receptors which
can then lock in stains after spills.
